Northeastern Nigeria: Rebuilding livelihoods in Borno State
Thanks to European Union support - FAO is regenerating livestock production to strengthen the resilience of vulnerable populations in Borno State
As part of its emergency response, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has launched its 2020 livestock restocking campaign. This campaign is part of a comprehensive initiative funded by the European Union Trust Fund for Africa (EUTF) jointly implemented by FAO, the United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women (UN Women) and the World Food Programme (WFP). It is envisaged that the intervention will empower beneficiaries by enabling them to reestablish their productive asset base through the replenishment of lost livestock.
