The Niger faces a worsening humanitarian crisis due to the coup d’état (July 2023), persistent insecurity perpetrated by non-state armed groups against civilians, chronic poverty and natural hazards, including seasonal floods and recurrent droughts. The combination of these factors is significantly affecting agricultural livelihoods in the country. With unprecedented food shortages and 80 percent of the country’s population living in rural areas, vulnerable households urgently need agricultural support to produce their own food.
