Scaling Innovations in Agrifood Systems Policy Design and Implementation in Support of CAADP Kampala Declaration

The Committee on Agriculture (COAG) side event will showcase scalable innovations in systems policy design and implementation across food security, biodiversity, climate resilience, One Health, and livestock transformation, in support of the CAADP Kampala Declaration. 

Agrifood systems face complex, interconnected challenges which require new ways of working across sectors and institutions. This session focuses on the "how-to" of applying a systems approach to policymaking.

Bringing together national and regional policymakers and practitioners, the event will showcase examples of how countries are aligning priorities, mobilizing investments, and strengthening governance mechanisms to operationalize the CAADP Kampala Declaration and accelerate agrifood systems transformation.

The session will also launch a new publication, Tools and Methods to Support the Design and Implementation of Policies for Agrifood Systems Transformation – A Handbook for Policymakers, which aims to strengthen the capacities of policymakers and practitioners in agrifood policymaking.
