New Innovative Ways to Reduce Food Loss and Waste

Food loss and waste reduction: how can we better integrate science and innovation in our actions? - This will be the title of a new special event, organized in the the framework of the FAO Science and Innovation Forum, on Wednesday 19 October at 11 AM (CEST).
This special event will gather perspectives and experiences from stakeholders from different parts of the world regarding applying science and leveraging innovation to sustainably reduce Food Loss and Waste (FLW). The event will also discuss possible response options and make concrete recommendations to achieve lower levels of FLW at scale within a sustainable agri-food systems context.
The Agenda features keynote remarks by Máximo Torero, Chief Economist at FAO, a session with technical presentations for setting the scene, as well as a panel discussion about science and innovation in solutions to reduce food loss and waste moderated by Kimberly Sullivan. The event will continue with the Global Pledge to reduce Food Loss and Waste, and Divine Njie, Deputy Director, Food Systems and Food Safety Division, FAO will deliver the conclusions.
