New Podcast Episode: Corinna Hawkes on unlocking impact through a systems approach
The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and the Global Donor Platform for Rural Development recently hosted Corinna Hawkes, Director of FAO’s Agrifood Systems and Food Safety Division, to discuss how a systems approach can accelerate agrifood systems transformation.
In the Podcast episode, the discussion highlights how a systems approach offers practical ways to achieve greater impact with fewer resources. Rather than addressing challenges in isolation, this methodology recognizes the interconnected nature of factors that shape agrifood systems. The recently published FAO report, "Transforming Food and Agriculture Through a Systems Approach," shows how actions and investments can become more effective by accounting for these complex relationships.
"Financing and investment need to incentivize the shift away from fragmentation towards transformation," Hawkes emphasized. Through a systems approach, we can contribute to sustainable agrifood systems that are able to deliver enough safe, nutritious food for all.
