First Research Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance and Antimicrobial Use in Food Animals in Asia and the Pacific

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, through its Emergency Centre for Transboundary Animal Diseases (ECTAD) and Chulalongkorn University, an FAO Reference for Antimicrobial Resistance, are co-organizing the First Research Conference on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) and Antimicrobial Use (AMU) in Food Animals in Asia and the Pacific (AMRU Asia-Pacific 2023).
The AMRU Asia-Pacific 2023 will focus on the following topics in food animal production in Asia and the Pacific:
- Session 1: AMR emergence and spread in food and agriculture in Asia and the Pacific: surveillance, molecular epidemiology and transmission dynamics.
- Session 2: AMU monitoring and alternatives to antimicrobials for AMU reduction in Food and Agriculture in Asia and the Pacific.
- Session 3: Bridging innovations and AMR mitigation in food and agriculture.
This initiative is a collaboration between FAO RAP ECTAD and the FAO Reference Centre for AMR, Chulalongkorn University with financial support from the United States Agency for International Development.
