In West Africa, countries are sharing pesticides and other supplies, rather than overstocking

While global attention has focused on the swarms of Desert Locusts attacking crops in East Africa, a number of other countries and regions are also confronting serious food security threats and require support, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization.

At the end of 2019, a number of vulnerable households in Burkina Faso’s Sahel region received small ruminants, animal feed and seeds from FAO. Among the beneficiaries of Dori was Ms Haoua Boubacar whose livelihood improved thanks to the support received.
