The FAO Regional Conference is an official forum where ministers of Agriculture and senior officials from the Member States of the region come together to discuss
challenges and priority issues related to food and agriculture, aiming to promote regional coherence in global policy matters.
The Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean will take place in two phases:
- Senior Officers Meeting (virtual) 11-13 March 2024

The FAO will organize a consultation session with the scientific and academic sector on February 20, 2024, in Santiago, Chile. This space aims to foster an exchange of ideas to promote the sector’s perspectives and potential contributions in FAO's areas of work. In addition, it will serve to prepare a formal declaration with the positioning of the sector to be presented and delivered to the member countries during 38 FAO Regional Conference, and also to elect spokespersons that will be representing the sector at 38 FAO Regional Conference.
