I am Agriculture: Youth in Agriculture – High School Video Competition

Agriculture is more than farming. It is food, livelihoods, innovation, communities and the future of our region.

Young people across the Caribbean have ideas, stories and experiences that can help others see agriculture differently.

The I am Agriculture: Youth in Agriculture – High School Video Competition invites high school students to use their creativity and voices to show why agriculture matters and what it means to them, their communities and the Caribbean.

Through a short, creative video, students are encouraged to highlight the importance of agriculture, showcase the people and activities that contribute to our food systems, and inspire others to see agriculture as an important part of the region's future.

This competition is an opportunity for young people to tell their own agricultural stories and demonstrate that youth are not only the future of agriculture—they are part of its present.

What are we looking for?

Creative storytelling

Create a 60-second video that captures your perspective on agriculture and communicates why agriculture matters.

Your video could explore:

• What agriculture means to you.
• The role agriculture plays in your community.
• The people who contribute to agriculture and food production.
• Innovation, technology and new approaches to agriculture.
• The importance of agriculture to Caribbean communities and economies.
• Why young people should consider agriculture as a career or opportunity.
• Your vision for the future of agriculture.

Above all, we want to see your voice, your creativity and your perspective.

Who can participate?

The competition is open to high school students who want to share their ideas and perspectives on agriculture through video.

Participants are encouraged to create original and engaging content that can inspire their school, community, country and the wider Caribbean region.

The first-prize winner will be presented with their award at the 20th Caribbean Week of Agriculture, taking place in Jamaica from 27 September – 2 October 2026.

Before entering, make sure your video:

• Is 60 seconds in length.
• Clearly communicates why agriculture matters.
• Is creative, engaging and appropriate for a high school audience.
• Reflects your own ideas and perspective.
• Is submitted by the competition deadline.
