Guyana government and FAO to launch the Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean
Minister of Agriculture Zulfikar Mustapha, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hugh Todd and Assistant Director General and Regional Representative of FAO, Mario Lubetkin will participate in the event.

On Wednesday, 7 February at 11:00 hours in Georgetown, Guyana, the Guyana government, and FAO will launch the 38th Regional Conference for Latin America and the Caribbean.
In the event will participate the Minister of Agriculture of Guyana, Zulfikar Mustapha, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Guyana, Hugh Todd, the Assistant Director General and Regional Representative of FAO, Mario Lubetkin, Yeşim Oruç, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Guyana and the Secretary-General of the Caribbean Community (CARICOM), Carla Barnett.
The authorities will present the main objectives of the Regional Conference, that will take place in March 2024 in Georgetown, Guyana. Also, FAO will show the conference logo and promotional video.
The Regional Conference is held every two years and brings together the governments of all 33 Member States of FAO in Latin America and the Caribbean to establish the regional priorities of the Organization for the next biennium.
After the launch, the authorities will answer press queries in English and Spanish.
