Belize is in the global spotlight as Louis Peña’s captivating image has been selected as one of five winning entries in the 2025 International Day of Forests Photo Contest, themed "Forests and Foods."
Organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the contest received over 700 submissions from 92 countries, each highlighting the vital role forests and trees play in food security, nutrition, and livelihoods.
Louis Pena's winning photo is currently on display at a special pop-up exhibition at FAO headquarters in Rome and will also be featured across FAO’s global social media platforms. The recognition includes a showcase of FAO merchandise for each winner.
Winners of International Day of Forests photo contest announced
