African swine fever affects both domestic and wild pigs across the world, causing substantial economic losses and considerable trade disruptions.

FAO will be hosting a session at the International Conference on Veterinary Science 2025 in Bangkok, Thailand. The scientific session, titled African swine fever: Managing with a One Health lens, will gather animal health professionals, medical experts, academics, industry representatives and development partners to share practical experiences and best practices in managing ASF. This session will highlight multi-sectoral collaboration, innovative interventions and community engagement strategies that have shaped the response to ASF in Asia. Participants will gain insights into sustainable solutions for transboundary animal diseases through interactive exhibits, panel discussions and testimonials from those in the field.
