Since 2016, Kotwal village in Chinarto district of Uruzgan province is facing severe security challenges constraining any kind of humanitarian assistance including strict movement restrictions for all civilians’ activities. 

FAO has been working to support vulnerable farmers in Afghanistan and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in agricultural markets across the country.

Almost three quarters of Uruzgan province’s economy is based on farming and livestock with remaining dependent upon trading and commerce.
