Organised by the FAO RNE network on nutrition-sensitive food systems, in collaboration with ESN and the ESP, the event aims to:
- Discuss linkages between nutrition and gender equality, based on evidence and lessons learned from programmes implemented in the NENA region, including in situations of conflict and protracted crisis;
- Explore challenges and opportunities for mainstreaming gender and nutrition in regional and country-level interventions in line with the FAO Policy on Gender Equality 2020-2030 and the Vision and Strategy for FAO’s work on Nutrition;
- Present gender-transformative approaches to be adopted in nutrition and food systems development interventions;
- Identify actions to further strengthen gender equality in food systems for improving food and nutrition security at regional level.
