Food insecurity and malnutrition are persistent challenges in the Near East and North Africa (NENA) region. It is a daunting challenge as 60% of the population is under the age of 25, 40% of the region’s women are unemployed, and 40% of the population lives in rural areas with high unemployment rates and lower wages.
