Protecting Gaza’s agriculture and livelihoods

The conflict in the Gaza Strip has devastated cropland, livestock, and fisheries, leaving communities without the means to produce food. While recent deliveries of aid and limited commercial goods have eased some shortages, food availability and access remain far below current needs. The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the United Nations (UN) are ready to scale up relief to restore livelihoods, agriculture, and local food production. At present, FAO is helping farmers grow the few remaining fresh vegetables and supporting herding families to keep their livestock alive, ensuring access to milk and essential proteins.
