CIHEAM BARI Celebrates its 60th anniversary

27 May, Valenzano, Italy – On the occasion of the sixtieth anniversary of the International Center for Advanced Mediterranean Agronomic Studies (CIHEAM) Bari Foundation, an international ceremony and the naming of CIHEAM Bari Campus by 𝗖𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗮 took place at Valenzano, Italy.
The ceremony was opened by CIHEAM Bari Director Maurizio Raeli and the Secretary General of CIHEAM 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗱𝗼 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘇𝗮 and by 𝗠𝗼𝘂𝗶̈𝗻 𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘇𝗲𝗛𝗮𝗺𝘇𝗲, General Secretary of the Lebanese National Research Center and former President of CIHEAM.
Local authorities, high institutional representatives and exponents of the academic and scientific world attended the ceremony. Among the participants was Maurizio Martina, FAO Assistant Director General, Paolo De Castro, European Parliamentarian and Thaer Yaseen, FAO Regional Plant Protection and Production Officer at the Near East and North Africa office, and a former student and a colleague of CIHEAM BARI.
The event was organized in collaboration with the 2120 district of Rotary International Puglia and Basilicata, chaired by the governor Mr Gianvito Giannelli.
During the celebration, CIHEAM recognized several colleagues with merit awards for their outstanding contribution and collaboration with the organization. Yaseen received the silver medal and the merit recognition certificate for 20 years of continues collaboration and tireless work.
