In the loving memory of Fawzi Karajeh

Fawzi Karajeh during a field visit.
The FAO family in the Regional Office for the Near East and North Africa remembers our colleague Fawzi Karajeh after a year of his passing. Karajeh’s impact and work in the organization as a Senior Water Resources Officer still lives on, showing the important role he played in FAO’s projects and initiatives.
Karajeh offered more than 25 years of experience and expertise in the water resource field. He spent a total of 13 years in the California Department of Water Resources and a total of eight years in ICARDA before joining FAO in 2014. Karajeh was a pioneer of the Water Scarcity Initiative (WSI) and it would not be where it is today without him.
He will always be remembered as a prominent water expert and has certainly left a big void in the Arab region and the Arab water community.
The FAO family truly misses Karajeh’s unique cheerful personality, strong friendship and smiling face.
May he always rest in peace.
