International Forests Day: FAO Lebanon shares information related to reforestation and afforestation

20 March 2020, Beirut - On the occasion of the International Forests Day 2020, FAO Lebanon disseminated a briefing note on reforestation and afforestation in Lebanon, highlighting FAO interventions and impact in this context.
In this note, FAO Lebanon offered some interesting figures related to forests in Lebanon and discussed current challenges of the forestry sector in Lebanon. In addition, it highlighted the collaboration and support of the Ministry of Agriculture regarding developing the National Afforestation/Reforestation Program (NARP), also known as the "40 Million Trees Program" which aims at planting 40 million forest trees in public lands within the next years.
