 In Tunisia, three Farmer Field Schools have been established since last November 2023 in the regions of Debin Metlaoui in Gafsa, and Nefta and Jehim in Tozeur. After nearly one year, around 75 farmers attended ceremonies to receive their certificates of recognition. These Farmer Field Schools activities are part of the FAO regional Red Palm Weevil Eradication programme for the Near East and North Africa.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), in collaboration with Oman's Ministry of Agricultural, Fisheries and Water Resources and the Environment Authority, has launched a training workshop as part of the "Building a Resilient Environment and Agricultural and Water Resources" project, funded by the Green Climate Fund. The workshop, held today in Salalah, Dhofar Governorate, aims to enhance participants' skills in climate finance and to build their capacities for climate change adaptation strategies in the agriculture and water sectors.

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) in Jordan funded by the Japanese Government, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA), launched a project aimed at addressing the pressing challenges of climate change and natural resource crises in refugee hotspot areas of Northern Jordan. The project, titled “Emergency response to climate change and natural resource crises in refugee hotspots in Jordan,” will focus on disaster risk reduction, community-based solutions, and forest rehabilitation.

In rural Lebanon, farmers embarked on a journey of learning and growth through Farm Business Schools implemented by the trained facilitators from the Ministry of Agriculture and funded by the European Union. Developed by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the Farm Business School approach aims to equip farmers with the skills to effectively manage their farm operations, respond to market demand, and enhance profitability. FBS is a curriculum-based extension approach focused on promoting market orientation and fostering a mindset of "farming as a business", shifting the emphasis from mere production increase to improving farm management and farm viability.

The coastal mangroves of Saudi Arabia, home to two crucial tree species - Rhizophora mucronata or Avicennia marina, known as the richest and most diverse and productive ecosystem, providing essential provisioning, regulatory, cultural, and supporting services. Saudi Arabia mangroves is also an important carbon sink and carbon rich, play its role in climate change mitigation and vital for biodiversity and marine life. The mangroves serve as a sanctuary for a myriad of waterfowl, fish, including commercially valuable shrimps, and serve as the breeding and spawning grounds for many fish population.
