FAO and UNDP have joined forces to restore irrigation for more than 10 000 farming families in Deir Ez-Zor, Syria, by conducting rehabilitation works on the Sector Seven pumping station, which has been inactive for over a decade due to the conflict in Syria, leaving more than 7 500 hectares of land abandoned and unproductive.
