For two days in the Cairo Water Week 2023, The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) organized the "FAO Track at the CWW 2023" in collaboration with the Egyptian Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation and other development partners.

The FAO Track at CWW aimed to provide a platform to deliberate and present FAO’s various initiatives, projects, and activities related to water planning, management, governance, productivity, and sustainability. The event coincided with FAO World Food Day 2023, which highlights water as a fundamental resource for life on Earth.

As part of its efforts in support of the Arab Forum for Rural Advisory Services (AFRAS), FAO facilitated the organization of a roundtable discussion aimed at clarifying a set of issues related to the establishment process of the regional Forum, including, inter alia, type of governance structure, relationship with the Global Forum for Rural Advisory Services (GFRAS) and establishment of country fora.

On the occasion of World Food Day 2023, the Ministry of Environment, Water, and Agriculture of Saudi Arabia, in collaboration with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), organized a grand celebration in Hail. The event was held under the auspices of His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz bin Saad bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Prince of Hail. This celebration was made possible with the support of partners, including Hail Region Municipality, Almarai, National Seeds Agricultural Production Company (NSPC), LEHA Agriculture, and JAL and also served as the inauguration of the agricultural extension convoy activities in the region, known as the "القافلة_الزراعية_الإرشادية" (Agricultural Extension Convoy) and Pomegranate and Figs Festival.

In a collaborative effort to combat desertification, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the National Center of Vegetation Cover and Combating Desertification (NCVC) embarked on a study visit to the Gansu Desert Control Research Institute in China (GDCRI). This visit comes after an extensive online exchange capacity-building programme focused on land degradation control, forest management, rangeland preservation, and the establishment of national parks. The study visit aimed to gain practical insights and knowledge from the GDCRI expertise in tackling desertification and promoting sustainable land management practices.
