Subregional conference on food loss and waste reduction in Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Turkey

The Subregional conference on food loss and waste reduction is organized by FAO in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Turkey on 29 September, to mark the International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste.
The event aims to encourage governments in Central Asia, Azerbaijan and Turkey to address the issue of food loss and waste, and support and implement the necessary policy changes and adopt adequate regulatory mechanisms to create a conducive environment for the private sector to act.
The conference will also provide a platform to discuss common challenges and barriers of food loss and waste reduction in the subregion, and inspire joint action through exchanging ideas on possible solutions and demonstrating the benefits and impacts of a collaborative approach.
