16th International LANDNET workshop

Since 2002, FAO has organized 22 annual regional workshops for Europe and Central Asia on land tenure topics such as land consolidation, land banking, state land management, land abandonment and land market development. Since 2010, the technical network is known as LANDNET.
The 16th International LANDNET workshop will take place in a physical format during 28–30 May 2025 in Budapest, Hungary.
The main technical theme of the 2025 LANDNET workshop is Land consolidation from European and global perspectives.
This includes:
- Presenting papers from the FAO Land Tenure Journal special issue on land consolidation (to be published before the workshop);
- Sharing experiences and good practices on land consolidation between European countries and bringing in global experiences;
- Capacity development on land consolidation and land banking;
- Land consolidation and land banking as instruments for combatting climate change and land degradation;
- Participation of landowners, farmers and the broader local community in land consolidation;
- Women’s land rights and tenure security;
- Development and regulation of agricultural land markets;
The workshop is organized together with the FAO Regional Technical Platform on Green Agriculture.
Participation in the event is possible via Zoom in English and Russian languages.
