FAO-SCO Food Systems Summit Independent Dialogue

FAO and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) are organizing a virtual independent dialogue on the development of sustainable food systems under the 2021 UN Food Systems Summit.

During the event, Shanghai Cooperation Organisation member states will discuss food systems and their development, elaborate on current challenges and possible solutions, and share good practices in ensuring food security.

Countries are invited to present the outcomes of the national dialogues and to speak about one of the action tracks of the Summit:

1. Ensure access to safe and nutritious food for all;
2. Shift to sustainable consumption patterns;
3. Boost nature-positive production;
4. Advance equitable livelihoods;
5. Build resilience to vulnerabilities, shocks and stress.

The Independent Dialogue will provide participants the opportunity to launch collaborations in the field of food systems and pathways to their sustainable transformation, and to explore possibilities of enhancing cooperation within the SCO for strengthening trade, domestic food supply, technical support for the sustainable food systems, and further areas.
