Informal consultation for Europe and Central Asia (29/05/2017)
Hybrid Event, 29/05/2017 - 30/05/2017
Given the limited presence of FAO at country level in the Europe and Central Asia region, informal consultations are a means by which the Regional Office and member countries can interact between sessions of the European Regional Conference. Used successfully since 2010, informal consultations have been well received by both beneficiary and donor countries in the region.
The 30th Regional Conference agreed on regional priorities as input to preparation of the Medium Term Plan (MTP)[1] 2018-2021 and the Programme of Work and Budget 2018-19. Various Country Programming Frameworks (CPFs) have been updated and adjusted in the Region – starting in 2017 – and country offices will also be requested to set the targets they want to achieve in 2018-19. Based on a review of the preliminary results achieved for the 2016-17 biennium and the priorities agreed by ERC, the future content and scope of the Regional Initiatives needs to be agreed.
An important agenda item at the meeting will be the discussion of proposals for the draft provisional agenda for the 40th European Commission on Agriculture (ECA) and the 31st Regional Conference for Europe (ERC) in 2018.
