Regional Workshop on “Road to COP26: Addressing Agriculture and LULUCF Sectors in Nationally determined contributions: South-East Europe & Central Asia”

The first Workshop of FAO REU Regional Workshop Series aims to support the countries of South-East Europe & Central Asia to be better prepared for COP26 climate negotiations. Specifically, the event aims to give insights for the countries to overcome the barriers and seize the opportunities for Agriculture and LULUCF sectors through enhanced reflection of the sectors in their NDCs. The event also aims to give insights on increased access to climate finance under the UNFCCC mechanisms in Agriculture and LULUCF sectors.
The event brings together key state institutions of the countries of the Region together with experienced and dedicated international experts to provide insights and share experiences on:
- the role of NDCs for addressing climate change mitigation and adaptation in Agriculture and LULUCF sectors in line with national agendas;
- how the countries of the South-East Europe & Central Asia can benefit from, and better prepare for COP26 negotiations in UK;
- how the countries of South-East Europe & Central Asia can benefit more efficiently from climate financing sources under UNFCCC Mechanisms.
