Towards the development of a roadmap for the digitalization of agriculture in Tajikistan

Hybrid Event, 30/11/2022

The Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Tajikistan has requested FAO to support the development of a roadmap for digitalizing the agriculture sector and strengthening the knowledge of advanced applications of digital technologies in agriculture. As part of FAO’s Technical Cooperation Programme, the project “Provision of technical assistance on E-agriculture to the Ministry of Agriculture” will propose a national roadmap for the development of digital agriculture in Tajikistan, identify key digital agriculture solutions, and provide technical support in piloting these.

The training workshop ‘Towards the development of a roadmap for the digitalization of agriculture in Tajikistan’ will introduce key concepts, technologies and models for the digitalization of agriculture and rural areas, covering different thematic areas (smart village approaches, eGovernment, data, and more). The purpose of the workshop is to develop foundational knowledge and raise awareness of digital agriculture, gather knowledge and experiences from key actors, and to co-design a vision for digital agriculture in Tajikistan that will guide the development of the national roadmap.
