WEBINAR: Climate change: Challenges and opportunities for agricultural education and science
Hybrid Event, 16/06/2020
Time: 9:00 a.m. to 13:00 p.m. CEST
Climate change, and particularly its intensification in Ukraine (resulting in rapid temperature swings, desertification, and natural disasters), has the potential to decrease agricultural production. Additionally, adverse social, economic, human and animal health events may further worsen the situation. To provide food security, agriculture has to adapt to the current challenges and maintain production efficiency. Appropriate education that combines national and international expertise can contribute to this.
The objective of the webinar is to discuss the need for enhancing educational programmes on agronomy, agriculture, and environmental science in the light of climate change. Speakers will look at international experience and recent national trends to develop relevant recommendations on integrating climate change resilience, mitigation, and adaptation issues into educational processes in Ukraine.
