FAO Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia

Call for innovations, solutions, and best practices to enrich the Green Practices Repository

Virtual Event, 10/11/2024 - 30/11/2024

FAO is launching a Call for Innovations, Solutions, and Best Practices to enrich the Green Practices Repository on the Regional Technical Platform on Green Agriculture.

Green Agriculture promotes a holistic approach to greening agrifood systems by adopting sustainable practices, policies, and innovations that focus on efficient use of NR, inputs, and energy, reduction of carbon emissions and pollution, preservation of biodiversity and ecosystems, sustainable consumption practices and reducing food loss and waste. It guides transformation of agrifood systems considering environmental indicators such as land, soil and water management, pesticide use, agrobiodiversity, greenhouse gas emissions, ecological footprint, and food miles.

The purpose of this call is to gather and share successful practices, policies, and research, enhance visibility for contributing organizations, foster collaboration among regional stakeholders, and support the transformation of food systems to address environmental and social challenges.

We kindly invite to submit your innovations, solutions, and best practices in the following areas:

  • Agroecological practices that reduce environmental impact and promote eco-friendly food production.
  • Policy frameworks for green agriculture adoption at national or regional level.
  • Evidence-based research supporting the transition to sustainable and green agrifood systems.
  • Field case studies of successful green agriculture implementations.
  • Innovative technologies enhancing food system resilience.

Please submit your contributions here by 15 December 2024.
