Launch of the E-learning course on land consolidation and land banking
Virtual Event, 05/02/2026
In recent years, the FAO has supported 13 countries in Eastern Europe with introducing land consolidation instruments and building up national land consolidation programmes. Training and capacity development have been important components of these projects and often a key determinant of project success.
By considering both practical applications and academic needs, an e-learning course was designed by FAO to support a broad range of different actors in understanding and implementing effective land consolidation and land banking practices. The course is based on a study entitled “Generic master’s course curriculum on land consolidation and land banking – Study and recommendations” , conducted and published in 2023 in cooperation with academia and practitioners.
The webinar will officially launch the e-learning course, beginning with a presentation of the course content and its potential applications. This will be followed by a panel discussion with representatives from academia and practitioners from countries with ongoing land consolidation programmes, and the panel discussion will conclude with an open session for questions, comments, and discussion with the online participants.
