Operationalizing a holistic approach to transform food systems sustainably in Europe and Central Asia

The UN Issue-Based Coalition on Sustainable Food Systems is organizing two online workshops entitled “Building capacities and regional exchange on operationalizing a holistic approach to transform food systems in the Europe and Central Asia.” The workshops provide UN Country Teams and UN Resident Coordinators in Europe and Central Asia with a unique opportunity to strengthen multisectoral UN support, and enhance knowledge and skills to further food systems transformation in their country contexts. They will also facilitate learning and experience sharing across the region, and showcase the value of the UN’s regional and country-specific expertise in supporting food system transformation outlined in the National Pathways.

More specifically, the workshops will focus on:

• Building knowledge and capacities to apply systems thinking that can help transform food systems sustainably, and solve complex food systems problems; 
• Equip UN Country Teams and UN Resident Coordinators with the required skills to develop impactful joint initiatives that help Members improve collaboration across different sectors and disciplines through multi-level governance mechanisms.
