Partnership Talks: Forests through the prism of the FAO-Türkiye Forestry Partnership Programme

Join us for a special side event showcasing the achievements of the FAO-Türkiye Forestry Partnership Programme (FTFP), held during the 43rd session of the FAO European Forestry Commission (EFC) and the 8th European Forest Week.
Launched in 2014, the FTFP strengthens country capacities to combat desertification and advance sustainable development by leveraging Turkish and FAO technical expertise in forestry.
The event will:
- showcase the aims and achievements of projects implemented under the FTFP
- facilitate dialogue on innovative approaches to sustainable forest management, biodiversity conservation and forest restoration
- share first-hand experiences from project coordinators, government partners and field representatives
- explore future priorities and foster greater collaboration to meet regional and global forestry goals.
Topics covered
Presentations and discussions will revolve around key aspects of the partnership:
- the general framework of the FAO-Türkiye Partnership Programmes;
- mobilizing finance for natural resources management;
- improving biodiversity through projects;
- forest restoration and environmental development;
- the institutional story of the International Forestry Training Centre; and
- a perspective from the field provided by the United Nations Forum on Forests.
The event will conclude with a Q&A session. Project beneficiaries are also invited to share their perspectives during the session.
