Training on the certification of organic production in the Kyrgyz Republic

A training on the certification of organic production in the Kyrgyz Republic will be held as part of the project “Strengthening capacities of the public and private sectors for regulation, certification, and marketing of organic products.” The aim of the training is to familiarize stakeholders from government agencies with the key provisions of the Regulations on organic production certification in the Kyrgyz Republic, which were developed under the project. 

These Regulatory documents include:
1. Regulation on the procedure for certification of organic production;
2. Regulations on the rules and conditions for Participatory Guarantee Systems (PGS);
3. Regulations on the procedure for recognizing the equivalence of organic production systems, certification, and organic products from other countries;
4. Regulations on the procedure and rules for importing organic products into the Kyrgyz Republic;
5. Procedure for the formation and maintenance of the State Register of certification bodies and organic production operators;
6. Rules for transitioning from conventional (traditional) production to organic production.

In addition, Samanta Rosi Belliere, International Consultant on Organic Certification from Europe, will participate. She will introduce potential certification bodies to European experiences in organic certification and explain the requirements of European certification agencies, including ISO 17065 standards and group certification.
