Working group meeting on antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
Chuy Province (Kyrgyzstan), 10/03/2026
A technical workshop of the national AMR Working Group is being held to discuss the final version of the National Action Plan on Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR). The meeting brings together representatives of the Ministry of Health, key government institutions, national laboratories, veterinary and food safety authorities, academic institutions, and international partners.
The workshop focuses on finalizing the strategic priorities, implementation mechanisms, and monitoring framework of the updated National Action Plan, ensuring that it reflects a coordinated One Health approach across the human health, veterinary, agricultural, food safety, and environmental sectors. Participants will review proposed actions to strengthen surveillance systems, improve antimicrobial stewardship, enhance infection prevention and control (IPC), and promote responsible use of antimicrobials in both human and animal health.
The event also serves as a platform to align national efforts with global and regional AMR commitments, exchange technical expertise, and identify key capacity‑building needs. By the end of the workshop, the working group aims to consolidate consensus on the final draft of the National Action Plan and outline next steps for its endorsement and practical implementation across sectors.
