Workshop: "Kyrgyzstan – From Contribution Analysis to Work Planning"

Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), 02/03/2026 - 06/03/2026

This workshop, organized under the global project “Addressing Tenure Governance and Gender Equality in Land Rights to Strengthen LDN Initiatives,” aims to review and validate the results of the recent contribution analysis and use them to shape a practical, prioritized, and gender‑responsive work plan for project implementation in Kyrgyzstan. The discussions will ensure that the final work plan aligns with national land degradation neutrality (LDN) priorities and principles of responsible land tenure governance.

Funded by the Global Environment Facility (GEF) under its eighth replenishment cycle and led by FAO, this global project supports capacity development to promote responsible, inclusive, and gender‑equitable tenure governance within LDN initiatives in Kyrgyzstan, Paraguay, South Sudan, and Sri Lanka. In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture and Processing Industry serves as the national executing partner, with implementation support to be provided by a third party.

As part of the programme, a field visit to Chunkurchak village in Chuy region is planned to facilitate further dialogue on practical approaches to achieving land degradation neutrality.
