Workshop: Applying a risk-based approach to the planning and inspection of supervised entities

Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan), 30/10/2026

On 30 October 2026, FAO will hold a workshop for staff of the Veterinary and Phytosanitary Surveillance Service on applying a risk-based approach to the planning and conduct of inspections of supervised entities.

The programme will cover data analysis, risk profiling and the prioritization of supervised entities, as well as the use of inspection checklists. Participants will also review the legislation governing inspections of business entities in the veterinary and phytosanitary safety sectors, the WTO Agreement on the Application of Sanitary and Phytosanitary Measures, and international phytosanitary requirements.

The workshop builds on FAO’s ongoing support to Kyrgyzstan in introducing risk-based approaches to state supervision, helping make inspections more targeted and efficient while strengthening the protection of animal and plant health and food safety.
