Workshop: Green agriculture in Uzbekistan for environmental protection and pesticides use reduction

The Government of Uzbekistan has declared 2025 as the Year of Environmental Protection and Green Economy, reinforcing national efforts to address climate change, biodiversity loss, environmental pollution, and the challenges of unsustainable farming practices.

As a country highly vulnerable to climate change, Uzbekistan is taking proactive steps to promote green agriculture, integrating sustainable solutions into agrifood systems to ensure food security while protecting natural resources. To further drive this agenda, a national workshop on Green Agriculture for Environmental Protection and Pesticide Use Reduction will be organized under an FAO project and with financial support from the European Union. The event will bring together key actors to share experiences, discuss collaboration opportunities, and promote sustainable agricultural practices that support Uzbekistan’s green transformation.
