World Food Day 2025, celebrated on 16 October, is calling for global collaboration in creating a peaceful, sustainable, prosperous, and food-secure future. 2025 is a special year for the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), as it marks the 80th anniversary of the organization’s establishment.

To commemorate this important occasion and raise awareness of World Food Day, between the period of 11-18 October, FAO will display flags on Margaret bridge in Budapest, Hungary, specifically designed to promote this day and FAO’s anniversary. A landmark of the city, the high-traffic bridge is at the heart of the capital and its infrastructure, connecting the two sides, Buda and Pest, as it crosses the Danube river.
