In addition to the FAO-organized World Food Day 2026 flagship events in Budapest, the World Food Day week in Hungary offers the public many more activities.
In mid-October, public institutions, universities, museums, science centres, international organizations, cultural institutes, civil society, retailers, restaurants and other partners will organize a coordinated programme of activities across Hungary and on their digital platforms.
From measurement to policy: sustainability assessments for the future of farming Agri Kulti Nonprofit Ltd. will organize an expert forum on current approaches to farm-level sustainability assessment in Hungary, including existing tools and practical experience. |

Other World Food Day partners and contributors

Businesses across Hungary are helping take World Food Day and its messages directly to their employees, customers and communities. Their contributions range from food donation and volunteering to consumer awareness and digital outreach.
Auchan Retail Hungary and Tesco are combining consumer awareness with community and employee engagement, including activities focused on food waste and responsible food use, employee volunteering to prepare food for people in need, and participation in food donation initiatives. SPAR Hungary and Wolt are also bringing World Food Day messages directly to consumers through their communication channels.
Food producers and other businesses, including Detki Keksz, Fitorex Food – YASO, Nutriqa Foods, Orsi, Spájz Szörp and Valoryz, are helping extend the campaign’s reach through their websites and social media channels, sharing World Food Day messages with their customers and wider audiences.
The private sector is also represented in the World Food Day Food Donation Convoy, where [participating companies] contribute food that will reach people in need through the Hungarian Food Bank Association.
Additionally, the Puskás Arena, the Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport and Malom Központ in Kecskemét are joining the campaign by displaying World Food Day messages and visuals on their digital screens.
Together, these contributions extend World Food Day into places where people work, shop and make everyday food choices, complementing the public events taking place across Hungary.
