Kyrgyzstan cameraman takes first prize in #MountainsMatter video contest

A cameraman from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan won first prize in the professional category of the #MountainsMatter video contest.

A jury of professionals working on mountain issues and in the field of communication selected the video of Nurlan Anarbaev for its aesthetic and technical excellence and relevance to the theme: “Mountains under pressure: climate, hunger, migration.”

International Mountain Day is 11 December. As contest winner, Anarbaev traveled to Rome, Italy to participate in International Mountain Day observances at FAO headquarters. There, his video was shown to a large audience on a mega screen.

Anarbaev also participated in the opening ceremony of the Mountain Partnership Global Meeting, and in the International Mountain Day Concert in the evening.
