Regional youth consultation on promoting youth engagement in agriculture and food systems

The main objective of the consultation is to understand the challenges and needs of rural youth, as well as to share good practices in the region, and support the creation of a platform enabling the youth to develop and learn from each other. Highlighting the importance of young people in family farming can help future generations participate in agriculture, while sharing innovative solutions can increase the attractiveness of agriculture and the food sector. 

This consultation will also serve as a basis for planning the work of FAO in Europe and Central Asia, which aims to enhance the support provided for rural youth through highlighting the importance of context-specific interventions, creating the necessary intergenerational linkages, and facilitating knowledge transfers.
