Subregional workshop on land market development in Central Asia

The workshop will gather representatives of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan, as well as experts from the government, academia, civil society, and the private sector to share experience in land market management and development.
Specifically, objectives of the subregional workshop are to:
- bring together countries from Central Asia to present, discuss, and share experiences related to agricultural land markets;
- explore opportunities for implementation of land management instruments for development of agricultural land markets; and
- discuss policy options for an active land policy, recommendations, and road maps for countries to develop agricultural land markets.
The workshop will benefit from FAO’s experience in the Kyrgyz Republic under an FAO project implemented jointly with the National Union of Water Users Associations
